This week had to have been one of the
l o n g e s t
weeks in the Keicher house!!
Hannah's started with a fever on Sunday and it lasted for 6 days...
...On Monday, we went to the Dr's.
Dr Vaughan did a urine test to check for a UTI.
All was clear. He said that the fever was probably a sign of what's to come.
Monday night her temp hit a high of 105.5 :(
After talking with the Dr Cozza, at 10pm, he assured me that she was okay. He also told me that he wasn't concerned about how high her fever was. He said that it was good that she has one. It was her body's way of fighting whatever is trying to attack it.
Tuesday and Wednesday the fever was up and down. It was kept under control with Tylenol.
As soon as the Tylenol wore off we were back up there :(
~Not exactly the way to spend the week off~
Thursday morning we woke up to 103.8 and I brought her back in to the Dr's.
They tested for strep and strains of the flu.
Again, tests came back negative...
...This time we saw Dr. Leonard. She was trying to figure out what this was and what's the next step. Well, seeing that Hannah's main complaint was the fever, no throwing up or diarrhea, we would give it till Monday. Either it was a virus that needed to run it course...or...if no change by Monday, we would go all out with testing.
Thankfully, Friday seamed the brightest day of the week. Other then waking with about 102 temp, she progressed the rest of the day and has been fever free since late Friday morning!! YEA!!
We took her out for a bit today. Headed to the mall for about an hour. That is one of the things she was hoping to do over break. We had lunch in the food court and then took advantage of the "Free Pretzel" promotion that Auntie Anne's was having till 3pm today. We visited her favorite store, Claire's, for a new head band and some Shamrock earrings.
She did well.
Now we just need to work on getting her strength back
and putting some meat back on her bones!!
Hopefully, we can enjoy Sunday...
...the last day of our winter break:)
