Deb Shop Reunion

Lets say almost 20 years ago I got my first job working at the Deb Shop in the Transit Town Plaza. Soon after I started working there I made friends with some wonderful people...
...The years would come and go and from time to time I would get a phone call inviting me to a Deb Shop reunion. We would get together and share info about our lives and our many memories of working together...
...Earlier this week I received one of those phone calls. I couldn't believe it. It must have been about 5 years or so since I last saw everyone. The plans were made for this evening to meet at Shelly's house. Unfortunately, tonight we were missing 3 from the group. We still managed to have a great time. (Thank you Shelly)

The best part of the night was when the photo book from 1990 & 1991 came out...

...Thanks to our hubbies for taking some great pictures of us!!
me (JJ), Cherie (my 1st boss), Shelly (STG) & Julie (Peachie)

Here is a picture of the Welcome Committee that greated us at the door when we arrived... They are so cute!! They each had bandannas on with their names on them

All in all it was a fun night. Later in the evening Bri went to get the girls. They were able to meet everyone too!!

Here's looking forward to the next get together!

High School Musical

What a way to start the morning then with High School Musical.

Kailyn

Hannah decided to bring out her Dora chair to share with Kailyn. She loves it. I can't believe that her feet touch the floor. This is how she sits in the morning now to watch her "kid shows".
Couldn't resist this picture of her blowing me a kiss. She is so lovable:)

Lisa & Mike

Yesterday we attended our first and only wedding of the year. Lisa, that I work with, has been a part of the Dance Spectrum Family for as long as I can remember. Her and Michael were married yesterday. The reception was held at Romanello's South in Hamburg.

We had a great time, as we always do each and every time the DS family is together! I wish I had a picture of all of us in the photo booth that was at the wedding. It was great, all 10 of us packed into this photo booth for pictures for the bride & groom. Once the pictures were printed, we made a page for their scrapbook!!! I just loved that. I wish we had one at our wedding.

Lisa looked beautiful, just like a princess. Everything was wonderful. Dinner was delicious and dessert was yummy.

It was a fun evening of music, dancing and laughter. I surprised myself and managed 5 drinks. Not sure exactly how I managed that, but I did:)

Best wishes to the newley married couple!!

Congrats Hannah

Hannah has been practicing and practicing and has finally mastered riding her bike without training wheels. Another accomplishment, another milestone!! Yeah Hannah. We are very proud of you... Remember what we always tell you, "when you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!" Congrats, you are doing a great job:)

Success!!

I'm happy to report that the garage sale was a success! Day 1 was the busiest, we could have done without day 2. I kept reminding myselt that I'm doing this to get rid of things, not to make $. In the end we had a combined total of about $200!! Hannah's popcorn and drink stand was a hit!! Her 2 days of work made her over $22. She was hoping for enough $ for a new DS game. Needless to say, we are heading to Target later today. I'm so glad that the weather cooperated for us:)

Busy Week

Sorry for the laps in posts. We have been busy getting ready for our Garage Sale!! Yes I said garage sale. I know, I can't believe I'm doing it either. It is actually a block sale. That is one of the reasons I'm doing it. Another reason is my mom is in on it:) "Thanks Mom." And this is also the weekend of OLBS lawn fete. So hopefully we will be busy. I'll keep you posted. If you're in the area, stop by!! Friday & Saturday. Hannah will be selling drinks & popcorn for a quarter. Wish us luck!!

Chuck E Cheese

We had a fun evening. We celebrated Evan's 6th Birthday at Chuck E Cheese tonight. It was Kailyn's first time there. Brian had a double header and was unable to make it. Man am I glad that my parents were there!!! K is a little tornado. Sometimes I wonder how I keep up with her at times. Hannah was so excited that she was able to get a picture with the big guy!
The girls had fun riding the horse.
Kailyn would talk forever on the phone if I let her. I don't know where she gets it from. It only seems right that her favorite was the play phone!

One Year Ago

Every once and awhile I think back to what we were doing 1yr ago, 5yrs ago, or even 10yrs ago. I think of how I have changed, how people I know have changed. I think about what I could have done different, or think of how thankful that I am to have done what I did.

Today, in thinking back, I think of 1 year ago. July 15th, 2008 is when my world came crashing down on me. We were just starting our kitchen remodel. Our house was a huge dust ball. Everything was completely gutted and we were living at my parents house. Kailyn was celebrating her 3 month birthday. I was not feeling well and finally promised my mom I would go and be checked out. Brian took me to an Immediate Care center and that is where they did bloodwork and diagnosed me with a blood clot. Next thing I know, I'm on my way to the ER. Oh my god I thought...A blood clot? Not me? Why me? People die from blood clots. I don't want to die.......

.....So much has changed in just 1 year!! First, I'm happy to be typing this today. I'm able to say I'm healthier than I was 1 year ago. (down 30+lbs and counting) Kailyn is 15 months old today!! My kitchen, eating area and everything that goes along with it is just beautiful. I am so thankful for my wonderful family who has helped get me to where I am today.

Putting all material things aside, I am proud to say that I am a very rich girl. Rich in love, rich in people I love and who love me back. Rich in trust and honesty. All the improtant things. All the priceless things. Thank you to everyone who has made me so rich! I love you all:)

Enjoy your day and live each day as it was your last!

Another Fun Afternoon

This afternoon was spent at Lisa & Rick's celebrating Carissa's 13th Birthday. Considering the weather, we did get some "outside fun" in between the raindrops. In addition to eating pretty much the whole time we were there, Kailyn also had a blast running around with MacKenzie and Hannah.

Brian was excited to see Kailyn with the football. He always says she is going to be Lancaster's 1st female middle linebacker:)

Another exciting moment was when Chris & Liz arrived with Emily. Here is a picture of the proud daddy along with Uncle Brian. It seems like a long time ago that Kailyn was this size.

Emily did very good today. Both Brian and I got to hold her today for the first time! We love you Emily Laurin:)

Haircuts

Thursday was "Haircut Day" for us girls, including Kailyn. Lucky Miss Debi had the job of fixing Hannah's oops with the scizzors and giving K her 1st haircut. It was a success. Hannah's hair is just a bit shorter. About an inch. And Kailyn's haircut reminds me of how Hannah looked at her age:) Wow, my girls are growing right in front of my eyes!!
